My first solo exhibit is entering its final week at Ketchikan, Alaska's Main Street Gallery, 330 Main Street, Ketchikan, AK. It's been a big success, with a well-attended opening reception and a third of the pieces have so far been sold...
My journal about the exhibit is here:
[link]A panoramic pic of the gallery with my works hung throughout is here:
[link]And a link to the Ketchikan Area Arts and Humanities Council's calendar entry for it is here: [link]
There's also a short thing about it on the local public radio here (you'd have to be patient--it's about ten minutes into the arts report):
[link]It's been a real treat to actually see my work on the walls of a real gallery, as opposed to the virtual galleries it appears in on the internet.
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to share what's going on with my work out there in the real-world. Many thanks to all those here on deviantArt who have been so kind with their comments and support while I've worked on my craft,

The show starts next month and runs for 6 weeks in Steninbach Manitoba at the Mennonite Heritage Village.
The Village (museum) itself is a piece of art, and the gallery is one of the finest in the province.
The Mennonite people moved to Manitoba in two waves. They settled in two "reserves" created by the government, the east (on the east side of the red river) and the west, close to Morden on the west side of the river. The land was rich but totally wild. The settlers made it into one of the best crop producing areas of the province. (Which made a lot of the English settlers jealous).
Even today, Mennonites talk about going to "yon seed" .. not spelled like that but said like it is spelled. It means to go over to the other side.. of the river. as in Vir gehen yon seed ( we are going over)
During the second world war, the Mennonites who are passivist, created the Mennonite Central Committee to help people who had been displaced. The Committee still exists world wide now, and provides relief and support to many areas of the world. It is heavily supported by the Mennonite people and the Canadian Government because of the proven track record.
If you want more history on the Mennonites or the Village you can google it.

Photography Competition Details
We are pleased to announce that the second annual International Centre Photography
Competition is now underway. This year the title for the competition is Artifex: Re-pixel the
World with Your Artifice and will use the theme of Diversity@Home. Diversity@Home is meant
to represent the idea that diversity exists within a single cultural group in addition to existing
between separate and distinct cultures. This is an opportunity for participants to use creativity
and skills to contrive an artistic composition of finesse and prepare a gallery display.UpdateThe second stage photo shoot has been completed, deadline for all final submissions are due May 6th with galleries later in the month.
